Train Derailment Exercise

Dear Residents:

On Sunday June 22, 2025, from 9:00am until 12:00 noon the West Haverstraw, Haverstraw, and Thiells Fire Departments will be conducting a Train Derailment Exercise throughout the Villages of West Haverstraw and Haverstraw. Fire apparatus and emergency services personnel will be operating on Delloro St, Joseph St. Key Bank on Rte. 9w and Pecks Pond in West Haverstraw, on Robbins Ct. and the train Tressel/Minisceongo Creek areas in the Village of Haverstraw. There will also be several drones flying over these locations as part of this drill. The only road closures we anticipate are Delloro St. at Joseph St. from 9:00am until 11:00am. Water pressure during this drill may be affected and/or discolored water may result for a period during and after the drill because of fire hydrant use.

Joseph St. residents, please take notice that Joseph St. and part of Delloro St. will be blocked by fire hoses and trucks from 9:00am – 11:00am. Please park your vehicles on Delloro St. before 9:00am on Sunday June 22, 2025, if you plan on leaving your home.
